The master bedroom on the second floor was equipped with a wood stove for heat, the new stove simulates a log fire but burns propane. There are no trees on the island. The original floor was preserved by sanding and sealing. Three different woods; fir, pine and maple were originally used in different parts of the Keepers quarters. The first photo shows how we found it and was taken by the GSA and used on their web site for promoting the auction of the island. Click 'Next Slide' to see steps in the progress of rehabilitation.
